What should a programmer who learns everything very slowly do?

I even like to study the source code of the project where I work, or any libraries. But I do not always grasp the meaning of the code, and sometimes I have to parse it in too much detail, because of this it is slow.
And further. Mathematics, algorithms, architecture are also difficult. It is difficult to say whether they are interesting to me or not: if you have already started and it turns out to come up with something normal, then it is interesting and pleasant, but until I get busy, it’s hard to start. There was a time when I preferred to blame it on colleagues. But what I always like is to study in detail.
