The concept of juniors is different everywhere.
If we average as much as possible:
- Theoretical base on Computer Science: understanding of the target platform, general principles of building applications, versioning, SDLC, and so on.
- Theoretical basis for testing: test design, testing practices and approaches, testing artifacts and principles and approaches to building and conducting testing.
- The theoretical basis for automation: what tools are available, how certain scenarios are automated, what should be automated and what should not be automated, and from which side to approach all this. The notorious page object and html\page elements.
- Theoretical base on programming: OOP, data structures, ability to solve minimal typical problems, knowledge of Java\Python.
- Some experience with automation tools (Selenium for web, Appium for mobile, etc.)
