What services (sites) do agencies, studios use for reviews?

I ask this question, many studios publish reviews on the company's work on their website. Design studio, advertising agency and many others. All this is great, BUT it is probably more convenient for many to leave feedback on third-party resources. Yes, and the percentage of trust is higher, for me personally, then yes. And you?
Question. What can you advise on this topic? and just do your thoughts? or all the same, the golden saying "a good product does not need extra advertising"?
In general, your opinion is interesting

It seems to me that the best advertising for development studios, design studios on the web will be participation in all kinds of ratings (for example, the CMS Magazine rating or the Runet Rating rating ), as well as speaking at specialized conferences and maintaining your own blog / podcast or at some major thematic resources (Habr), or standalone. Such methods often attract very adequate, advanced clients with whom it is pleasant to work.
Then, many potential clients of web studios (I will call it that, generalizing) in search of a performer ask for recommendations from their friends who have already experienced this. Moreover, both with the positive (“Ivan Ivanovich, but advise me the guys who will update my corporate website normally”), and with the negative (“Ivan Ivanovich, I need to update the site here, I found guys from our city like LLC WebSiteStroy, do you know if you or your friends had cooperation with them, how are they, adequate, literate?").
And reviews on third-party aggregator resources (for example, iRecommend and Otzovik), again, in my opinion, are more suitable for other areas: tourism, household items, vacancies and jobs, food, medicine, etc.

I met a hyped resource, the main PR people were only left-wing sites specially created for this resource)))
Like "hagis is recommended by the union of pediatricians [which was created to recommend hagis]".
On third-party resources, advertising would be nice [would] if it weren’t for competitors, who will f**k as soon as you start to flicker somewhere.
The only way out is to create your own groups in social networks and broadcast reviews from them, naturally moderating them yourself.
