What server error notification systems do you know/use?

Hello gentlemen!
There is a need for a notification system about errors / disk space usage / overload / and other troubles / amenities - by mail / sms directly from the server on ubuntu 14.04 from the long-familiar company Digital Ocean. What do you recommend watching? Maybe someone wrote something for themselves (tell me the logic and technology)?
I see no reason to put something like ZENTYAL / LANDSCAPE / WEBMIN - I would like something relaxed for the server.
The idea is to find out about the problems on the sites before they lie down and receive a letter of anger from the customer :)
Sincere thanks! I know that Vanga's descendants are not here, if I didn't express myself clearly, I'm sorry.

uptimerobot.com
Pros: no need to install anything. The free version has 50 hosts, checking every 5 minutes for five minutes, on alarm - letters (you can also send sms) to the specified contacts. Works pretty reliably.
Cons: only accessibility is checked (i.e. that the url does not respond with 4xx or 5xx).

Write a simple shell script. :) And put it in crowns. Let it collect data and send it to your email.
