What's the difference between KVM based VPS and OpenVZ based VPS?

What's the difference between KVM based VPS and OpenVZ based VPS? And why is OpenVZ cheaper than KVM? Can you explain in simple terms. I want to buy for the site. But there is a lack of administrative knowledge of these technologies. I was offered ISPmanager. After installing ISPmanager, can I use it as a regular hosting? The site will mostly have files for download. Help me make a choice.

Simple Comparison Table
The bottleneck of OpenVZ technology is relatively slow disk handling. This problem is in the principle of operation of this system. + let's say "overselling".
The advantages of KVM are independent resources: each server is allocated its own area in RAM and on the hard disk, which increases the reliability of such a server, preventing neighboring servers from using the same areas of memory and disk space. This does not allow you to "oversell" resources.

KVM - hardware virtualization. Those. your virtual server will have great performance.
ISPmanager will be the same as regular hosting with the same PU, but you will have to configure some things yourself.

Um, then there is no difference for you at all, take what is cheaper and better for you, overselling is possible on openVZ, but this is not a terrible procedure, in fact OpenVZ is a container, and KVM is a more complete virtual machine
