Amazon Kindle DX graphite. bought because of the size to read pdf (pdfs are normally read only on large screens) Also at that time it was the best display. Well, global 3G, which really turned out to be almost useless, because I don’t buy books on Amazon. I'm happy with everything. Whoever says that the Kindle does not support fb2 or other formats, I answer that there are converters. Moreover, on the same flibust, almost all books in many formats, download what you need and that's it.

Kindle 3, without a free 3, because you don’t need it. The battery is better than in Kindle 4, the scroll buttons too.
There is Amazon for shopping.

Amazon Kindle 3G. Presented, at that time, one of the best screens, free 3G. If I chose now, I would take Nook Touch and rutanul. Many friends use it, everyone is delighted.

Amazon Kindle 3 WiFi. Well, what were the prerequisites? When I bought it a year ago, it was the best reader for reading fiction, according to my opinion. Although I don’t mind reading PDFs, large-screen readers are already approaching the price of an iPad, and I feel sorry for the money (I was not rich). I like the quality of the screen and the duration of work without recharging.

nook color. The best screen at the time of purchase. I watch anime on the road.
The touchscreen is shitty, the gyroscope is curved, the glass scratches (not much), all other surfaces peel off (without a cover, and I'm not very careful with it).
Batteries for 6-10 hours depending on the brightness.
For Internet on the road, I have had a 3g-wifi router on a battery for a long time, so this is not a problem.
The watcher is excellent, especially if there is a good server for video clipping (not all hd looks on it, but up to 360p it is omnivorous @ 800mhz) The
Internet connection is good.
The game is average.
The reader is normal, the brightness is enough to read under the sun, and at a minimum the screen does not bother even in complete darkness.

ONYX Boox A62.
At first I wanted to take the A60 Pearl, but very few of them were released, and when I started looking, everything was already sold out, I had to wait for the heir. What the choice is based on: increased contrast and refresh rate on the Pearl screen, in addition to HD in the A62 (1024x768 instead of the standard 800x600 for six-inchers). A touch screen was required, because I read a lot in English and at the same time use a dictionary, and highlighting or typing a word with one joystick is a mockery. So that the touch screen does not worsen the contrast, you can do either infrared or Wacom. The first one is more convenient, because does not require a special stylus, but you have to make a rather high frame around the screen to accommodate the emitters, and if the light source is at an angle, a shadow from this frame will fall on the screen. Therefore, I settled on Vakomovsky.
Another choice was influenced by native support for a large number of formats. Yes, there are all sorts of converters, but I'm terribly reluctant to move my collection back and forth to the requirements of different readers. Yes, and I like to correct typos, and it's most convenient to do it right away in fb2.
The book is not without flaws, but overall I'm happy with it.

iPad. Before its appearance, I was thinking about buying an eInk reader, after that such thoughts did not arise. Soon it will be 2 years since I use it, I am very satisfied.
Pros: versatility (that is, not only reading), color screen, the ability to read in complete darkness, noiselessness (when flipping). Many sites offer ePub downloads that can be opened directly in an iBook.
Disadvantages - battery life on a single charge (it is VERY good, like for a tablet, but it can't be compared with weeks of eInk, of course), weight (in some positions, hands can get tired during long reading), although paper books are also not easy.

PocketBook Pro 902.
I bought it for reading scientific and fiction literature, the main requirements were an e-ink screen and sufficient reliability at the same time. In general, it suits, no major flaws were noticed. The device has Wi-Fi, in which case, it will be enough; I do not recommend buying the 3G version, because the Internet on the e-ink screen is more of a fun toy than a useful feature. There is no stylus in this model, but it seems to me that it is also optional. Of the minuses, I can note the slowness of work and rare freezes, which appear during operation close to extreme.

9.7" screen, it's unrealistic to use something smaller, except for fiction (although I'm not too comfortable with it either)

Kindle 3g, I took it for two reasons:
1) Free 3g
2) Chic branded case with backlight.
Well, the egronomics is convenient, after installing a couple of prog - it becomes omnivorous, until it is 100% satisfied

Kindle 3 Wi-Fi. I have been using it for about a year and a half, I like everything: it works stably, it lives on battery for a long time, the case is comfortable in hands and small (relative to 10-inch ones). I mainly read fiction books (for which I actually bought) and textbooks.

Sony PRS-300 - compact enough to fit in a jacket or jacket pocket; large enough to comfortably read - the size of pocket books a la Dontsova. Aluminum. The price tag is now minimal. She read everything I fed her. There are two branches of development of alternative firmware - both have their own nice bonuses.

Pocketbook IQ. He came to me by accident, and since it was my first android device, the first thing I did was to pick it for an object, how to turn it from a pure book into a full-fledged tablet. After some tinkering, it worked out successfully, you can fully go to the Internet, read mail, even had to administer a little via ssh, the Google store got up - the software is installed from there, some of the toys come (the percentage is rather weak - the book is still, not a tablet) , I read PDFs, and I insert comments, I picked up a dropbox, and for it I wrote my first soft for android. In general, it became somehow even inconvenient to call it a book. Well, I’m not talking about the supported formats anymore - since it’s a little undersized, it digests almost everything.

Sony PRS-600. In fact, it is enough for my eyes, and in the last year I somehow began to use it less often, as well as to read something that is not related to work. I regret the latter, but there is no time.
As for the reader, now I want to replace it with a Sony PRS-T1RC, because due to the touch film on my PRS 600, the contrast is lower than I would like.
The rest was completely fine with me.

Samsung tab 7.7
Thanks to its size, it fits perfectly in a small bag that I always carry with me (a bag ala a large wallet with a strap). The best screen for this size, practically does not fade in the sun (except for direct rays, but under them it is not convenient to read a book with good paper). In reader mode, it works for a long time. And most importantly - it's a full-fledged tablet.
When you get tired of reading, you can surf the Internet, read mail, play something, look at maps on a fairly large screen, and even movies (although I haven’t used this yet).
The only thing it's not suitable for is pdf. You can read in landscape mode, which is quite convenient, but it would be better if the whole page fit on the screen. The new iPad rules here, but I don’t see the point of carrying such a miracle with me.

PocketBook 360.
It is very convenient because it has a plastic cover, and not a case, as a result, it wins in size, and a rather rigid case, picked up PocketBook 912 after it, was afraid to break it. Very convenient large paging buttons, it is very convenient to read with one hand, for example, in transport, for paging 2nd is not required at all. I took it precisely because of its very compact size (it fits very comfortably in a medium-sized bag that I carry on my shoulder), and the visual strength of the case, although I read that there were models with distortions, as a result, the screen broke, but it bypassed me. Yes, and the utter omnivorousness of formats and ease of filling, is visible in the system as a disk, for the card the 2nd disk.
Also PocketBook 912
Convenient for reading technical literature, omnivorous, multitasking (but switching only with the stylus and no split-screen for several books). There is a stylus as said, it is possible to leave notes. But it feels too fragile.
Tried Asus EEE Note.
Convenient electronic notepad, that's where the pluses ended. The screen is black-and-white LCD without backlight, it is visible only in good ambient light, the contrast is very low, the viewing angles are terrible. Reading is inconvenient, books take up little space on the screen, it is inconvenient to manage in fullscreen.

There was no money at all, but the reader wanted to. I took Magicook P61P a year ago. One of the first cheap ones with Pearl screen. For six months I was tormented with firmware (hanging). Everything is fine after the last time.
The set included a leather case. I infect mainly from USB from a laptop.
I read a little, everything is in FB2. He suits me

Rooted Nook ST. I read about it here, on Habré, and on the same day I ordered it on eBay. True, I had to wait a whole month for him, because the German customs wanted money from me.
PDF reads well, although, of course, there is not enough landscape orientation in the native interface.
For FB2 - CoolReader - no complaints

Kindle 3g, great for fiction. Now also Kindle Fire (rooted with Android 4, for reading - Kindle app from the market). On it I read mainly pdf and online documentation. Yes, and as a Kindle Fire tablet - a wonderful device in terms of price and quality. The battery is true for 7-8 hours.

Kindle 3, with 3g. The advantages and disadvantages of the reader itself are described above. Happy as an elephant (oftop: "where did this expression come from?").
And about 3g:
In principle, those who say that 3g is unnecessary are right, all the same, you have to pay for the delivery of books and documents wirelessly over 3g. And from surfing with such control there is little pleasure.
But sometimes 3g-Internet helped to kill time or get urgent Internet abroad or at the airport when there is no access to free Internet. And yet, you can always download the book via flibusta with 3g.

Sony reader prs-950 - E Ink Pearl, 7″. Touch screen, aluminum body - it's not scary if someone accidentally sits down.
I read a lot, the battery lasts long enough. There is a stylus, it is convenient to highlight text with a marker and take notes.
