Can you tell me in what / what programs do people who make apartment designs mainly work and where do they get furniture catalogs, etc.? maybe there are some courses? in which direction to look?

It all depends on the studio. Almost any 3D editor is suitable. We have in the city, mostly in 3Ds Max or Maya. Someone may not like my answer, but in 95% of cases it is 3ds Max (cracked) and ready-made models downloaded on torrents. This is where the people who work on ads like "design project for 2000 rubles" come from.
