What programming language to choose for the first game?
Hello, I want to create the first game in 2D. I used to want to create in Flash, but he ordered everyone to live long, and looking at the games I realized that it was horror. I dismissed this option. So, my requirements are: cross-platform, easy to learn, a normal engine that should have a normal interface (an interface at the Godot level will be fine), OpenGl, Because. in programming I understand little, I will add an item with normal animation and other features of good engines. Thanks for the answer.

JavaScript

Pixi.js, Phaser.js
Now my partners are doing it on Pixi.js, I like the result. A very good engine, there are some problems there, but it is unlikely to affect a beginner. I can’t show projects yet, but then if you’re interested, I can show them.
Game Maker: https://www.yoyogames.com/gamemaker
For 2D games as a hobby, that's it. There are a lot of ready-made assets, examples, a lot of chewed up and simplified, a large and active community.
Of the shortcomings - its own PL, which no one needs outside GM.
