What program can collect statistics on the availability of the Internet?

They took me to the office of a new provider. It seems to work well while I'm in the office, but one employee said that the Internet disappeared a couple of times in the evening. What program can record internet connection availability statistics? Preferably without a huge log, such as how to ping and write to a file. I want to set it up for the holidays so that it collects a small amount of statistics in 2 weeks.
