a junior, with a clear conscience, may not have a portfolio)))
ps
well, or another wording - if there is a portfolio, especially with interesting content ... this is NOT a junior anymore ;)))
pps
and put in a portfolio, you just need really worthy of attention ;))... if you have achievements on https://www.codewars.com/ for example... this is NOT a portfolio, it's like "academic help" ;)))... a portfolio is when you did something unique and for money (not necessarily big, the main thing is that no one has done it before you) .. well, or without money - open source is sometimes very respected)) .. (everything is the same - whether no one decided ... either your decision is awesome .. something like that))

Looking in what in the field. If desktop development, then something on WPF or whatever is fashionable there now. For example, you can make a calculator.
And if web development, then ASP NET MVC seems to be fashionable there. Accordingly, you can make a copy of your favorite online store on asp net mvc.

  • Profile education - programming or a similar direction
  • It is desirable to have some kind of practice / internship in companies.
  • It doesn't hurt to take some online courses on .NET and the basics of team design.
  • It doesn't hurt to write some kind of test project and have it in your github
  • You should definitely have a well-filled and detailed profile and / or CV
  • Always a plus - English

You may not have a portfolio. Junior has enough theoretical knowledge.
But if you want to have a portfolio, then just put in it a simple but complete project that solves a specific problem.
This is valued the most, as it shows you the ability to work with requirements.
