What portable environments would you recommend?

Hello!
I decided to get rid of the most unpleasant binding to the workplace by switching to a portable placement of software and projects with periodic backups. But I can't figure out the environment. Could you recommend something?
I'm currently using OpenServer in conjunction with PhpStorm.
What options do I know:
- Portable Ubuntu, but I don't think it's very convenient. There is a binding to hardware + the speed of work can jump if you connect an external drive via USB;
- Port typing of the above software, but PhpStorm, as far as I know, does not provide such an opportunity on a regular basis, and I have no idea how the chicken installers will affect the overall work;
I will be glad to accept new ideas for myself :)

If you have access to the Internet, then you can try cloud IDEs:
c9.io Koding
Codeanywhere
,
etc.
But as far as I understand, it is important for you to work without the Internet, then maybe there is www.easyphp.org as an alternative to openserver , but for the IDE I think nothing there is no better storm :) But if you are willing to donate to the editor, then you can use VSCode.

Thin client on the server. Vim + plugins + cron backup. Connect to the server remotely from anywhere and work.
