What package to choose for learning 3d modeling?

Good afternoon.
I have a problem of the following nature - I can not decide on the choice of a package for self-learning 3d modeling. I am an absolute beginner in this and my work is not connected with this, but my soul asks. Therefore, I would not like to make a mistake in choosing.
I googled this question as best I could and realized that different software packages are better suited for different tasks (suddenly, right?). I myself want to create static scenes and try my hand at creating models for games (including animation). I thought about it and decided that if I already had contact with 3ds max in my life, then so be it.
What then is the question, you say! And the fact is that when you google this question, you always end up at a party with men in sweaters who get into each other, smeared with oil and shouting that the blender is better, or the cinema is better, or the houdini is better, or Maya is better, etc. Have mercy! I'm just a newbie!
I realized the pros and cons of individual software packages (according to men in sweaters), I realized that more than one package is used for commercial tasks. But I just want to start somewhere and start right. At the moment, I stopped at max, due to the fact that there are a lot of training materials. I hope that there are people here who work in this area and will tell you what packages they work in and what they advised me to learn the basics in. Thanks in advance.
