What OS to roll on a home server?

I found an unnecessary old computer and decided to make a home server out of it.
The characteristics are as follows:
Amd Athlon 2 X2 215
2 gb DDR2
Nvidia Geforce 2**
Weak, of course, but I think it will suit my tasks.
What OS do you recommend for these characteristics?
It is desirable not just Ubuntu, but with a specific indication of the version of Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS.

The choice is small: current versions of centos, debian or ubuntu.
centos is more for "set it and forget it" in the enterprise, debian is also a bit conservative, so I'm for ubuntu.
64 bits is also needed, because. now some things just won't work on 32.
Therefore, the choice narrows down to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 64bit
