What OS to install inside VirtualBox in order to minimize the load on the computer?

Which OS Linux or BSD or Windows to install so that VirtualBox minimally loads the computer. (Consumed less memory and processor).
My VirtualBox should work all day and slow down the computer as little as possible.

The choice of a virtual machine in this case depends on the program (what it will do, what resources it needs, etc.). You can just try to install three virtual machines with different OS and monitor it and it will immediately become clear which one to leave.
