What OS is better to write projects on Android?

I started to understand development for android, but Android Studio (on win 10) works slower than I would like + sometimes freezes. In addition, I have been thinking about switching to Linux lately.
Therefore, I want to know the key points:
- Does Linux really work much faster?
- Where is more/better software for development (not only for android)?

I think it doesn't matter at all. Which OS is more convenient for you to develop on, and the correct answer would be the
main thing is that there is at least 8Gb of RAM)
PS: Linux is a plus if your application is on a server that is under Linux. All useful Android packages will work in any popular OS.

yes, I'm sitting on ubuntu 17, it works a little faster (subjectively), it eats less memory. emulators work better than on win10.
It works great on Mac too.
Acceptable on Win7.
On win10 there are always some problems, dropped the OS.

If your studio slows down - it's a matter of hardware, weak hardware
Switching to Linux will only simplify project assembly
