What Oracle software to choose for project implementation?
Please help me choose software for the project.
The essence of the project:
1. Develop a database on Oracle.
2. Develop a means of primary data loading from MS SQL + from files in the following formats: Excel, Access, XML, DBF.
3. Develop a tool to automatically update the database from other databases running Oracle on other servers in the same network. In the future, perhaps not only Oracle. These databases have views with read permissions. Updates must be scheduled or requested by the user. The update tool must run on our DBMS server.
4. Develop a tool that allows users to regularly upload files to the database in XML, Excel formats from their machines.
5. Optional item: to map views from other databases to their own structures. That is, for example, the application software makes a request to the 'Clients' view in our database, and this request is redirected to the 'Clients' table (view) in the database on another server. But for application software, it looks like it received data from our view.
Mandatory requirement of the customer - DB Oracle 11 under HP-UX. Windows client machines.
It is still difficult to estimate the volume of information storage. But according to preliminary estimates, at least 100 GB. With a quarterly increase of 10 GB.
In the future (during the implementation of the next stages of the project) - up to 1TB or more.
Development is planned to be carried out using Oracle 11 under Windows.
Therefore, to facilitate porting under HP-UX, it seems appropriate to me to use Oracle software to the maximum.
There is no particular constraint in the means, but, of course, within reason :-)
