What options are there to create custom stores for users of a single wordpress site?
There is an idea to make it possible for wordpress users to create their own online stores with a basket and other things. I'm wondering if I use multisite, will it be possible to implement my idea or do I need specialized plugins?

Multisite will solve the issue. Each site can have its own store, that's why they are standalone network sites.
