What new sound card do you recommend?

I have a dexp laptop. I don't know what sound card is inside. But I study and try to do something in the Sonar music editor. And I hear the sound crackling. As they explained to me, the built-in sound card of my laptop can not cope.
What sound card would you recommend to buy (with what characteristics)? Someone told me that, for example, the Sound Blaster Live RX is good (including the price), but it won’t fit into a laptop, so I’d better buy with a USB input.
