What might be meant by "banner tag"?

Can someone explain what is the concept of "banner tag" in the world of banner networks? I stumbled across the Internet in the test, now you need to expand your horizons, because it's not in order :)

Create a banner tag that loads a js file from the server

It seems to me that this is not a custom html tag for injecting a banner, but so far I have only muddy guesses and I have not been able to google any specifics ...
PS it is supposed to implement THIS on pure js, whatever it is :)
