What location methods are available to sites?

Geolocation

As far as I know there are 2 options.
1. in php we find out the latitude and longitude by ip then through google maps we find out the city
2. using javascript geolocation api we find out the latitude and longitude then through google maps we find out the city
geolocation api disappears since there is no request for permission to determine the location
A by ip - this is needed base with ip and corresponding cities. These databases are paid and free. But neither one nor the other guarantees an exact definition.
Those are all the ways I know. Are there other ways?
