What literature on Python and Django do you recommend?

I'm writing this question because the first look at the year of publication of Guido van Rossum's books made me look for something fresher.
What books are currently the most recent and up-to-date for, say, python 2.7 and Django 1.7?

Interested in literature for beginners, but later digging deeper + with a good practical part so that you can solve the problem at the end. Preferably in English.
I'm currently reading ZA Shaw. Learn Python the hard way, but I feel like it's too much for beginners with no development background in other languages.

As a reference book and a book on the basics, I will advise "Python Programming Language" from Suzi Roman Arvievich
