What kind of RAM to buy in an MSI laptop?
Installed on MSI Gl62m 7rdx two sticks of 2933 MHz 8 gigs instead of one stick of Samsung 2400 for 8. Everything was super. (By the way, I did a full upgrade, changing the hard to ssd, shoved another m2 ssd, well, and Ozu itself.
But ... From time to time a black screen appears when loading (and turning on after sleeping) and there was no more reaction, I read the forums - suspicions of RAM. I took the advice from the forum - I changed the bars in places. After turning on, a black screen caught fire with the error exiting pxe rom. Changed the boot method in BIOS (correctly? Boot method?) From legacy to Uefi, and that's all. Today the laptop sat down, and after turning it on gray screen (read black) and also reaction 0.
Rebooted and began to study the issue about the RAM.
It turns out that this question is more complicated than any others, and I did not find an answer purely to my “question”. And the question is this:
My laptop seems to support 2400 MHz RAM.
Having installed 2933, in theory, the laptop should take ONLY 2400, but it holds 2666. So it supports 2666 MHz, and not 2400 as programs (read utilities) write to display this kind of information.
1-----Actually, what should I do? Leave this plastic, or return and buy Samsung the same as it was before? Or buy 2666 MHz. And if you leave it at 2933, will something burn in the computer, because even if you consider that the RAM works at 2666, it still sometimes gives out a black screen?
2----- Is it worth changing the RAM frequency settings through the BIOS, as advised on some forums, and is it worth updating the BIOS?And if both answers are YES, then how to find the setting option? I couldn't find it, I looked all over the bios and climbed into the most inappropriate places for this setting ... there is nothing))
And if my question is not clear, then just tell me what would you do if you were in the situation described above?
I’ll attach pictures of what the programs write, because I’m tired, and I don’t understand what they write and what they want from me (I’ll figure out how to current ...)
