I need to read files with the extension .BAS, when opening them with notepad, Russian letters are not readable and I don't know how to run it. Tell me, what kind of language with the .BAS extension and what development environment should I use?

If Russian letters are not readable, this may be a code in DOS CP866 encoding, if I'm not mistaken.
