What is the superiority of the Intel Nuc over self-assembly Mini-ITX?
Need a compact entry-level server. I look at NUCs and the question arises - how is it really better than self-assembly based on Mini-ITX? Of the minuses, I see a soldered processor, but what of the pluses? It seems not so difficult to choose a motherboard supported by some kind of Ubuntu Server, and other components of which are not so much needed, in the end it will come out cheaper and there are more upgrade options.
Or is the devil in the smallest details, and the NUC will be more stable and reliable?

NUC is much more compact than mini-ITX. It is about the size of a five-inch DVD-ROM. And mini-ITX is already the size of a game console somewhere
At my last job, I used nukes, for three years there were no problems with them.
Depends on the load that will be on this server, maybe the raspberry/orange can handle it?
