What is the relationship between Yandex.Zen, Habrahabr and the authors of Habr?

Hello!

The Yandex.Zen service has a Habrahabr channel: https://zen.yandex.kz/habr

Who is behind this channel is unknown, there is no information on the channel page.

Today I learned that on Yandex.Zen on this channel my article was published, which was posted on Khabar more than three years ago. Everything would be fine, but the article on Yandex.Zen has features:

  • The author of the article is not specified
  • Date of publication on Habré is not specified
  • No link to original article
  • The article is distorted (some illustrations are missing)

I can’t understand: for what reasons are articles from third-party resources posted on Yandex.Zen, and in this form? Is there any agreement between Yandex and Khabar? Yandex is not responsible for what is published on its service, and only the owners of the channel are responsible for this? Then why is it impossible to find out the owner of the channel? Do such Yandex.Zen publications violate current Russian copyright laws?

I'm not just a curmudgeon, this article has been reprinted more than once by other resources, and I didn't care. But other resources at least gave a link to the original, and here some kind of complete disregard for all the norms.

Essentially, I want to change the article so that the author is listed, the original publication date is added, a link to the original article is added, and all illustrations are displayed. But on Yandex, Zen it is impossible to do this, just send a complaint without the possibility of presenting your requirements.

What is the right thing to do in such a situation?

This is our official Zen account, we are behind it :)

Yes, it can be. We post articles in Zen in the same way as, for example, in our community on VKontakte, so that more people will read them.
Basically, I want to change the article so that the author is indicated, the original publication date is added, a link to the original article is added, and all illustrations are displayed.

If we placed it by hand, we can fix it. Send me, please, your article to the mail ([email protected]) or to the cart @ shelsneg, and write what you would like to correct in the article. Let's see what can be done.

Write to the Zen support, and, if the answer is negative, do not publish any articles on the resources where they get the content from.
Authorship - is unlikely to prove.
In general, everything is simple:
All large companies of the same clan share traffic with each other on a mutually beneficial relationship. Users (content authors) on these resources are their gasoline (income). With them - services share likes, achievements, ratings.

Everything is very simple - business, nothing personal. The channel needs to be relevant, post new articles, attract subscribers, advertise, make a profit. Your article passes the placement criteria (apparently "old", but still relevant). We reworked it a bit so that there was no 100% borrowing or to update the content. Placed.
From a legal point of view - see the agreement with Habr on the placement of your articles. If they acquire exclusive rights to your content, then they can use your content. How exactly - see the agreement.
From a purely human point of view, I consider it disgusting not to indicate the author with a large percentage of borrowing.
