What is the reason for the rapid growth and then decline in the popularity of java in 2016?

Judging by the TIOBE chart, Java in 2016 was overtaken by an unprecedented growth, but then was replaced by a fall.

What happened at this time? What is the reason for this fluctuation?

This rating is some mediocrity for hype in a vacuum, and does not correlate with the popularity of technology in the real world.
Perhaps this is due to the popularity of bitcoin in China. And maybe with the dynamics of the melting of multi-year ice in the Arctic.

Duck, after all, Android appeared, you see, from that time on and began to grow with varying degrees of success, but the vector is still directed upwards. And the fall, as a result, is possibly due to the unprecedented hype around the cores and the transition to them in terms of development. But the last one is my guess to be honest.

My Growth Assumptions: Java 8, Android M/N, Javarashi and Geekbrains, Medium, JetBrains, Firebase, hype.
Fall Assumptions: Kotlin, Swift, other hype.
