What is the reason for clearing HttpContext.Application?

Good day.
Now I am writing a wrapper on ASP for equipment management (Printers, scanners, etc.). In general, the logic works. Apart from one scanner method. When it is called, for some reason the data in HttpContext.Application is overwritten, while the method itself works fine. I can't figure out what is the reason for this behaviour.
And in the end, maybe there is some mechanism for saving objects outside the application. I tried to use StateServer, but it swears at the impossibility of serialization due to the use of marshaling, I cannot exclude its use.
