What is the read / write speed on the hdd connected to the router via USB?

I want to buy something like this device for further connecting an external HDD to it and accessing it over the network.
The network is home, the goal is mainly to store photos, videos and that all family members have access to shared resources.
Who has a similar experience, tell me, what are the average read / write speeds to disk, is it comfortable to work, are there any pitfalls? Maybe it's better to choose something else? Interested in budget options, thanks in advance.

old routers give about 5 mb-s via usb - netgear 3500l / asus n12 and hardware brethren. speed rests on the processor, which is not fast.
in new powerful ones under ac standard, as a rule, there are no such problems, but the price ...
if the disk has not yet been bought, it is better to look directly at independent nas.
there are inexpensive ones, an example wd mycloud is not much more expensive than the disk itself inside, but there are an order of magnitude more opportunities than any router
