What is the purpose of sql_attr_multi, sql_joined_field and sql_query_post_index in Sphinx?

Can you explain on the "fingers" what sql_query_post_index , sql_attr_multi and sql_joined_field are for in the Sphinx configuration and how to use them correctly? When should they be used? Can you use some example..
