What is the purpose of creating a question mark in the address bar of chrome with the keyboard shortcut ctrl + e?

Pressing ctrl+e moves the cursor to the address bar and inserts a question mark.
1. Why?
2. Why?
pysy: sometimes when you work for yourself, and it turns out that it is accidentally pressed.

Obviously, this is a combination to quickly jump to the search bar.
And the question mark is needed so that when searching for something that looks like a domain (for example, VB.NET), this word is searched for, and not a jump to the domain occurs. A kind of escaping the search query.
