What is the programming path to junior?

Good evening gentlemen, I read on Google that you need to learn programming by writing codes, so the question is how to come to understand and write these codes? are there any resources? Tasks? Because, as I understand it, reading books is one thing, but how to practice if a person is a complete 0, where to start, what course to follow. I'll be glad to give you good advice)

From languages I would advise Java instead of C++.
Java is easier than C++ and there are many more vacancies.
But if you like solving math problems, then C++ is probably the best choice, because where performance and fast mathematics are needed, they mainly use C ++.
Of the books on C ++, I would recommend Prat, preferably the newest edition where C ++ 11 is available.
And from the video tutorials, I will advise lectures from the Computer Science Center - they are related to Yandex and Jetbrains
compscicenter.ru/syllabus
There C ++, Java, algorithms and data structures, discrete, machine learning, basic theory in computer science.
