If VPS, then you are not alone on this machine, several virtual machines are running on it, and maybe another from this server started a DoS attack in 1000 threads, the entire processor is loaded, and you only see your own processes.

If you notice a process unknown to you in the system activity manager, then:
1 Disconnect your computer from the network immediately physically (pull out the network cable)
2 Well, then the debriefing begins ...
It can either be a virus or you have problems with hardware. But most likely 1 case. Therefore, you need to find the folder in which the virus is sitting, close the process through the manager, and then work with the file that you found. But keep in mind, before deleting a file accused of a crime, you need to google whether it is a system one. If it is a system component, then you should manually reinstall this component.
After you delete the suspicious file, you should reconnect the computer to the network and monitor it for 30-40 minutes. If there is a worm on your PC, then it will definitely manifest itself.
PS Some modern viruses disguise themselves as system files. Be careful!
