What is the problem with virtual host?

Good afternoon! I set up virtual hosts according to the instructions here -> https://andy-blog.ru/kak-nastroit-virtualnye-hosty... I did
almost everything exactly, except for directories. I put them on my own (/home/user/ftp/site/public_html)
After I did this, turned on the site, it did not work, although when pinging the domain, the ip address was correct. Tell me what's the problem? If you need logs, I will gladly give them, just tell me where they are stored
