It is better to choose the industry first, and then the languages, and not vice versa.

The backend with aspnet core is in demand more than anything else.
Then comes gamedev with Unity and desktop with WPF

Everything is in demand.
It's just too early for you to choose an area, you should study the base.

At first I wrote as an answer to your question about different languages and decided to make a separate answer.

For my part, I will say php, it is in great demand. Simple language, half of the features are advisory in nature and highly dependent on the team, in particular on their strength in programming. I came across good guys, but they didn’t get very good, but of course it all depends on your skills.
Minus PHP in the lack of uniformity of the ecosystem. In Russia, there are 3 main frameworks Symfony, Laravel, Yii2 and then 0.5% others. Each of them pulls the strap on themselves and make up a share of roughly 33%. Each framework is rich in features, they solve the same problem, but it's like react/vue/angular. You can’t have your own approaches, methods and be a professional in everyone. Accordingly, the list of vacancies is no longer as large as it seems, because then some preference will clearly appear. For example, I definitely have Yii2 on my blacklist.
Also minus PHP in its focus purely on the web. Sooner or later you get tired and want the opportunity to make a regular Windows application, game, binary. After all, PHP is strongly clamped in this regard, not even so, there is basically nothing on this topic and never will be. Only the web, but it's beautiful in places.
You can also consider Python/Django.
In any case, you should focus on remote work if you are not in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Personally, in my muhosransk, which technology you don’t choose, a maximum of 1-3 offices is normal. The rest are stirring up something or sitting in the basement.
Choose according to the call of your heart, otherwise you will already feel sick for 2 weeks. I am currently learning C# in particular asp.net, wpf. Even in these areas, information is through the roof.
