What is the maximum a designer can do when developing a website?

The organization needs to change the site, I am the only person in the company who knows what Adobe PS, Ai is.
However, as for the development of sites, I do not understand absolutely nothing about it. Knowledge is limited to excerpts from a university course on html.
The site is not complicated, the main goal is to provide a product catalog.
What can I do for my part to save the company money and reduce the time?
Thank you!

To save your bosses money, you can suggest they turn to specialists.

The only thing you can do is go to Google and find a ready-made layout for the site (paid or free, your boss decides).

Say that you need a normal site and find a person who will do it cheaper. Or take up training and learn html css and CMS. You can MODx, you can any other, but the site will come out so-so)
Interested in the site, please contact :)

Since you are familiar with Adobe, then try Adobe Muse. It's not that hard of a tool. Interesting visual editor. The layout can be thrown very simply, if you own FS.

If it's cheap, then google " website builder " and read their terms and conditions. A couple of examples were given by Nekto_Habr If the conditions (price, etc.) are suitable, then you make a website in the selected constructor.
If it's really cheap, then google " website templates ", choose the one you like, buy it or download it for free. At the same time, you learn the basics of the CMS for which you have chosen a template (you can first select a CMS and then a template for it). Install the template, customize it to your needs and fill the site with content. You cope with any jambs yourself or hire someone who understands this.
But if you want a quality site (and save your bosses money, time and, possibly, nerves), as Sanes wrote, look for a specialist (or studio) who will make you a ready-made site on a turnkey basis. You don’t think about problems, but just wait, make changes and accept the work. A good studio will also not let you sink in the search engines if there are any good positions.
