Open firebug and look at the response headers:
Server nginx/1.2.1
X-Powered-By Express
So probably yes, node.js is hidden behind Nginx.
As for "instantly", I don't really agree, the firebug shows that the page is generated in 140 ms, I have it on the same php and it happened faster. So nothing special IMHO.

"Instantly"? Where? 150ms for generation, more than 1 sec for full load. Moreover, there is nothing complicated. My blog on wp works a little faster.
