What is the .ex4 format? How or in what way to edit such files?

I wanted to fix the turkey Gann_SQ9_2.ex4, and there the meat instead of the code
others have a second .mq4 file, everything is readable there,
but Gann_SQ9_2 only has .ex4
, can it be translated into a readable form and then back to .ex4?
