What is the error when trying to log in to ftp?

Good afternoon, I rolled proftpd on ubuntu (I used to do it on debian, everything worked), I did everything according to a fairly normal procedure, but when I try to log in, I write

Статус:	Соединение установлено, ожидание приглашения...
Ответ:	220 FTP Server ready.
Команда:	USER hero3
Ответ:	331 Необходим пароль для пользователя hero3
Команда:	PASS ***
Ответ:	530 Некорректные данные аутентификации.
Ошибка:	Критическая ошибка: Невозможно подключиться к серверу

Naturally, all passwords were set and everything was entered correctly, I tried various methods pretty well once.
In the auth.log logs:
Jul 26 13:10:01 site CRON[14286]: pam_unix(cron:session): session opened for user root by (uid=0)
Jul 26 13:10:01 site CRON[14286]: pam_unix(cron:session): session closed for user root

Jul 26 13:18:01 site CRON[14394]: pam_unix(cron:session): session closed for user root

It seems to me that ftp has nothing to do with it, if you need an ftp config, then I’ll throw it off, but the config is standard, there were only a couple of parameters changed. What he is trying to do with CRON and where the root session is not clear to me.
Tell?
Thanks in advance for the replies.

@Takun

You provide an auth log that has nothing to do with ftp authorization - there is a connection shell.
Look at the ftp server logs

CRON has nothing to do with it.
Anyone can log in via FTP?

I managed to connect in FileZilla by specifying port 21 and removing the sftp:// prefix from the server address.
