What is the difference between WDS, WISP and repeater?

What is the difference and similarity in these modes, which is better to choose?
When switching from one to another, I did not notice a difference.

WDS - you connect one wifi router to another private wifi network. In fact, it turns out a radio bridge. All data is transmitted over the air.
WISP is almost the same. This is when only the Internet is distributed to your router via wifi. In fact, these are technologies for providers.
Repeater - simply repeats and amplifies the signal of a specific wifi network. The client may not know / notice that he is connected through a repeater.
