PostgreSQL is a vanilla open source version.
Postgre Pro - sort of the same, labeled by 'Postgres Professional'.
The topic is not very deep, but the differences are at least as follows:

  • There is functionality that is missing in the vanilla version
  • Support is provided, according to all relying SLA
  • Included in the register of domestic software
  • There is a FSTEC-certified version

Some people think that Postgres Professional just sells open source software under its own brand, but as far as I know, this is not true - they really have their own developments, they actively contribute to open source PG and promote it in every possible way.

These are two different DBMS.
postgres pro is a local closed fork of the free postgresql.
