What is the difference between Master, Slave and Secondary DNS?

Hello.

Can't figure out the difference, where are the zone files stored?
Who responds to DNS queries if the Master is down?

It is worth considering bundles a) Master & Slave; b) Secondary & primary separately
a) Master - DNS records are created and changed on it, and Slave already pulls them from the master - these concepts from the point of view of setting up the servers themselves
b) Primary and Secondary should be considered from the point of view of determining the order when registering a domain, which ns is primary, which is secondary, which is tertiary, etc. In some zones, the order is not relevant and the Primary and Secondary values are blurred.
At the same time, Secondary (however, like Primary) can be both Master (that is, changes are made directly on it) and Slave (pull information from the master) for the domain.

From the point of view of the client, there is absolutely no difference between Master and Slave . These are exclusively "inter-fighting" concepts.

Master - primary. Secondary (slave) - secondary, in some way spare.
Zone files are stored and edited on the primary, the secondary periodically uploads them to itself. If the primary has fallen, the secondary works for it.
