What is the difference between Hybrid ISO (LiveDVD) and Minimal Installation CD?

Sometimes the Gentoo 10 project releases a special DVD that can also be used to install Gentoo. The instructions below assume that you are using a minimal installation CD, so in the case of a DVD, they may be slightly incorrect. However, LiveDVD (or any other bootable Linux environment) supports getting to the command line simply by typing sudo su - or sudo -i in a terminal.

LiveDVD has an X server, browsers, and a bunch of stuff.
Minimal CD contains only the bare essentials for setting up a network and working with a disk.
