Are full text search and LIKE the same thing or not? What's the Difference?

LIKE is just a substring search. Full-text search "parses" the text, highlights words and lexemes, thereby allowing you to search for all word forms of a certain lemma ("on the fingers" lemma: forest, word forms: forest, forest, forest, etc.), allows you to set the distance between terms (one the word is located no further than two words from another, etc., etc.).
