What is the difference between conducting transactions (clients) Tasks and Projects?

Good day
Please tell us how transactions differ between Tasks and Projects?
For example, our scheme of work Call / recorded in the client's card / made a CP / let's say we received approval from the client - we provide construction services
BUT - we have the ability to fulfill the order is not rubber, plus there are current orders that we fulfill.
How is it correct after we received Yes from the client to conduct his order? Where to lead? in Tasks or in projects?
We use CRM from the package (Onlyoffice), but the essence, as I understand it, is the same for all CRM systems.
I would be grateful for an answer

Michael, good afternoon.
In fact, you can use this functionality in different ways, but I can tell you how it usually works on my projects.
Important: I have not tried working with Onlyoffice. It is best to use the system exactly as its creators intended. Maybe you have their mail or phone - try to contact them and clarify.
Usually, transactions involve a sale. Conditionally from the stage “we learned that they want to order a service” to the stage “they received the service and are satisfied”.
In your case, most likely these are the following stages:
- first contact
- send a quotation
- make a decision
- successfully sold
And deals travel through these stages.
Projects are usually started already when you are doing work. For example, building a house is a project. Everything is already sold. We must now build.
A project may have its own stages. For example:
- design
- purchase of materials
- the first stage of work
- the second stage of work
- finishing
- delivery
And the tasks are usually smaller pieces. They can be created both in transactions and in projects. For example, the task “call to find out what they decided there about our proposal - they promised to answer” is inside the deal. And the task is to “select materials” within the project at the “design” stage.
It is usually understood that there can be many tasks. Different people can be responsible for them. For one client for one project or deal, there can be many different tasks at once.
The project can be created, for example, at the moment when the transaction is successfully completed. The salesman began to sell - they made a deal. The salesperson leads the deal by stages and monitors the tasks in the deal. The seller successfully sold - they successfully completed the transaction and immediately created a project. The manager leads the project by stages and monitors the tasks in the project. Completed — the manager successfully completes the project.
But again, I’ll make a reservation: it’s important to understand how the creators of your CRM conceived to work with clients, deals, projects and tasks.
Perhaps what I wrote here should not be listened to, but everything should be done as intended by the creators of the system, so as not to suffer later.

@caballero

the system for all CRM is completely different, everyone sculpts for himself what he wants
projects and tasks are more suitable for projects such as programming,
you would need something like production orders
