Hello dear!
Surely software has already been invented more diverse than Excel for doing business, for example, one department.
Let's say that in a quarter we turned 20 discs (which is 5 more than the previous one), 3 were rejected, 6 have already been sold, and in the end we see all this in a beautiful presentation (and at least just a few diagrams) for the authorities - what good fellows we are and what progress we have. Well, we want to add some comments to the records about each disc, etc.
