What is the correct hostname to set on the home server?

I am slowly learning to work with linux, using the example of a home CentOS server, I plan to raise a web server, dns server (bind), auto-download torrents on it and all sorts of goodies that beginners probably like to mess around with. I read somewhere on the Internet that if you use a home server as a web server that will be accessed from the local network, then it is not advisable to call it monosyllables, such as "home", "server" and so on, but explanations of how to call it correctly and why you can’t call it simply - I didn’t find it ... Therefore, several questions were born
1) How to correctly call hostname
2) Why you can’t call it a simple name
3) Where will it be used inside the server
4) How can it be used from outside (local networks)
If I didn’t ask about some additional subtleties and nuances out of ignorance, but you know about it, I will also be grateful for the information

@ntzch

name the server whatever you like, it's just convenient for quick access to the server,
for example, ping server is quick and convenient to type than ping my-home-srver-web-proxy, etc.
to access from outside, you must have either a white ip or a white dynamic ip to configure services no -ip or dyndns to get access
