What is the best way to start building a website, gulp or reactJS?

What's the best way to first build the site using gulp and its plugins, and then put the layout on react? Just a lot of optimization plugins out there. No experience with react yet

Better immediately on React. React is not Vue, it's not html compatible, so you'll have to waste time rewriting it too.
