1) How do you insert background images for a single post? Background or regular image insertion?
It is more logical, of course, than the usual insertion with predefined styles. However, if the layout is adaptive, and the proportions of the news change depending on the resolution, the background is much more convenient.
2) How, in this case, to simplify such an insert through the panel for a not very advanced content manager?

I use this one, it's very convenient, you can hang pictures not only from the library, but also from external resources.
