What is the best way to organize turning on / off the hard drive?

SMART reported that the number of launches has already "exceeded" and even attempts to turn it on, in general, the disk may suddenly disappear, and I decided to take it for weekly backups and all sorts of garbage. I ask you to blame for the disk death that did not occur, that is, I tend to blame Windows 10 with its constant shutdown of the hard drive in order to save money, but this is not about that.
I intend to do my best to keep the disc alive and decide to turn it on purely out of necessity. So how to turn it on / off is a big question, because:
- if you turn it off in the device manager, it will still start before the system starts (as far as I understand)
- you can’t turn it off in the BIOS - there are no such settings
- pull the cable I do not want food, because most likely it will die even earlier.
So far, the working version is this: I take a converter from a regular power supply to SATA, stick it into the hard drive and connect the other end to a regular power supply (old-style, 4-pin connector). I will turn on and off the adapter, killing it and the connector from the PSU. Everything will work, but I would like a better solution. For example, solder the button into the power gap. But if so, which wire/wires? Or maybe there are already ready-made solutions for the sale of such wire extensions with a switch? If there is, then throw a link or at least the name of such devices.

The ability to turn off the hot, it's certainly cool
This has long been a standard feature of the southbridge. At some appears at inclusion of RAID.

taking into account the fact that the on-off operation is the most critical for the disk due to mechanics, this will simply finish it off

You connect the SATA power connector to an external PSU, you connect the grounds of two PSUs .
When the computer is turned on, turn on the power of the entogo disk, then run Device Manager from under the administrator, right-click on any device and select Update device configuration - the disk is located and mounted in the system.
When you are finished working with the disk, close all programs that work with this disk. after in the Device Manager you go to Disk Drives, right-click on this screw and select Disable. after the disk appears with a red cross, the screw is turned off.
