What is the best way to load test API if the project is built on microservices?

As far as I understand the structure of the project now (I have been working for the second month in total), each microservice with us supports a certain number of methods available via the API. And almost all of them are aimed at providing some kind of information from numerous databases.
The question is, how best to design load testing for such a service?
I would be grateful for advice and links to articles / books / videos on this topic.
I will add that the question is not what tool to do this, but what tactics to follow.
